When our good friends at HIX (Hotel Interiors experience) launched their event they were determined it would be different from any other interior design exhibition. They wanted a visual identity that reflected this unique, rebellious energy but with a nod to luxury interior design.
We designed a typographic logo that suggested luxury and heritage, and combined it with bold neon colour pallete with stripes and dots graphics invoking creativity and a design - led aesthetic
We commissioned Clay Halling, a US illustrator to create a ‘hotel furniture monster’ representing their dramatic arrival at the Business Design Centre, as well as a series of smaller spot illustrations reflecting some of the key themes of the event
We combined Clays surreal, provocative illustrations with a bold neon colour palette , striking geometric patterns and a quirky bespoke type treatment for key messaging to invoke the energy, creativity and rebellion of a unique event.

We created a series of limited edition framed posters featuring Clay’s monster illustration and a provocative strapline. These were numbered and given free to event partners
We worked closely with Greenshires Print to create a unique launch pack to grab the attention of potential exhibitors. Letter, stickers and cards were all printed in 5 colour Litho (CYMK + fluoro green)
The outer envelope was made bespoke from 270gsm Wigston Kaskad Raven Black cardboard with white foil blocked text and ‘teaser’ stickers applied to the reverse
The inner envelope was made up from 270gsm Wigston Kaskad Grey with die cut holes to reveal Clays illustrations across a set of 8 cards outlining the guiding principles of the event
The pack also contained a welcome letter and a page of stickers featuring straplines and illustrations
